Lake Superior Park, NY

Lake Superior State Park was added to PIPC’s network of parks in 1968. Located in Sullivan County, about 20 miles west of Monticello, this 1049-acre park is endowed with two exquisite lakes – Lake Superior and Chesnut Hill Pond. Improvements include picnic areas, boat livery and launches, beaches and bathhouse. Lake Superior is one of only four parks where deer hunting is allowed.
Today, under a long-term license from PIPC, the Department of Public Works of Sullivan County operates Lake Superior's beach area, which features a swimming area, sand beach, picnic areas with grills, group picnic pavilion, rowboat and paddle boat rentals, boat launch, full-service food concession, restrooms, shower/changing area, and volleyball court.
