Goosepond Mountain consists of 1,543 pristine acres, about six miles west of the New York State Thruway, in the town of Chester, Orange County.

Almost completely wooded, Goosepond is popular for horseback riding and hiking. Acquired with funds from the New York Bond Acts of 1960 and 1962, it remains true to its original purpose as recreation lands.


Please note: Park is undeveloped -- there are no toilets and there is limited parking. Open year round.
